A collision involving a tanker-truck striking a hydro pole on Tuesday afternoon closed streets in Woodstock.

Woodstock police say they were called to the scene on Springbank Avenue at Juliana Drive around 1:20 p.m.

According to investigators, a transport truck hauling a tanker was southbound on Springbank when it attempted to turn right at the curve onto Juliana and struck the curb and a hydro pole.

Extensive damage is reported to the pole and Woodstock Hydro was called in.

Due to issues with hydro wires, Springbank is closed south of Keyes Drive and Juliana is closed east of Longworth Lane. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to stay clear of the area.

Police are continuing to investigate and it's unclear when the roads will re-open.
