Woodstock police have charged 17-year-old after a vehicle was stopped for speeding and police found seven passengers in the car, including one in the trunk.

The male driver has been charged with stunt driving and had his licence suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days.

Police say they received a complaint around 2 p.m. on Wednesday about a 2005 Honda Civic with too many passengers.

About 20 minutes later an officer on Finkle Street near Alberta Avenue spotted the Civic and reportedly clocked it at 88 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and found to have seven passengers including one riding in the trunk.

In addition to the charges faced by the driver, two of the passengers were charged with failing to occupy position with seatbelt.
