Woodstock police say a teenager has been charged after a radar patrol found he was travelling at more than double the speed limit.

A patrol was underway in the area of Norwich Avenue and Parkinson Road in Woodstock's south end when the teen was stopped around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the 2012 Honda Civic was found to be travelling 110 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The 19-year-old male drive has been charged with racing under the Highway Traffic Act.

A racing charge generally includes an immediate driver's licence suspension and impounding of the vehicle involved.
