A Stratford man is facing a total of 16 criminal charges following his alleged crime spree.

Startford Police first arrested the accused on Wednesday, September 28th, at Walmart, for various offences related to theft and breach of probation. He was released with conditions.

On Sunday, October 9th, police arrested the same man again in the driveway of a residence on Graham Crescent. Police were called there because a man was seen going through two unlocked vehicles. The accused was arrested for trespassing. Further investigation turned up an iPod, loose change, a wallet containing multiple credit cards from various victims, and a pair of bolt cutters. Officers also located a bag containing items from a local grocery store. Police say staff at the grocery store told them the accused tried to buy items using one of the stolen credit cards.

The 31-year-old man is charged with the following offences:

• 2 counts of Theft Under $5000

• 6 counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000

Police say that in all these cases, the victims left their vehicles unlocked and that personal effects including wallets and purses were stolen. Stratford Police are reminding everyone to ensure their vehicle is locked at all times and that belongings remain out of sight when the vehicle is left unattended.
