Police are sending out a warning about an east London area that has seen a surge in vehicle thefts.

Police noticed the increase in thefts in an area east of Clarke Road, including Trafalgar Heights, Nelson Park, and Argyle and started monitoring around May 1.

They say the thefts have happened every day of the week, usually between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m., and have involved windows being smashed, doors being pried open, or entry through unlocked doors.

Property stolen includes golf clubs, tools, identification, and any type of bag, regardless of content.

Police ask the public to be vigilant and remove valuables from vehicles and neighbours are asked to look out for one another and to report all suspicious activity by calling 519-661-5670 or 911.
