Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for London and Middlesex County, as well as an extreme cold warning for nearby counties.

Lambton, Elgin, Huron and Perth County are also under a snow squall watch, while Grey and Bruce County are under a snow squall warning.

The forecaster says snow squalls will start Tuesday night and continue Wednesday, bringing about 10 to 20 cm of snow. In addition, gusty northwest winds will result in very poor visibility due to blowing snow.

Still, Environment Canada's David Phillips says not to worry as it won't last, calling it a "one week wonder.”

Grey-Bruce, Huron-Perth and Waterloo-Wellington are also under an extreme cold warning.

Environment Canada says very cold temperatures combined with strong northerly winds, could result in wind chill values near or below -30 C Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, a cold weather alert issued by the Middlesex-London Health Unit and Elgin St. Thomas Public Health - remains in effect until Thursday.
