TORONTO - Light snow and possible freezing rain are in the forecast for southwestern Ontario and the Toronto area, just in time for the afternoon rush hour.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that says a low pressure system headed toward the Great Lakes will bring up to five centimetres of snow.
It says the system is set to hit the province's southwest quickly then roll northeast, hitting the Toronto area later this afternoon.
It also warns visibility could drop to 400 metres in some areas.
The weather agency says there's a chance freezing rain will follow the snowfall later tonight on a stretch from Lake Huron to Lake Ontario.
Drivers are advised to be careful on the roads, which could become icy and slippery.
