A Special Investigations Unit (SIU) probe is underway after a university student was hit by a London police cruiser.

The SIU says it happened Monday around midnight when three people were travelling south on Richmond Street in a taxi.

The taxi stopped in the south lanes, south of Piccadilly Street near Molly Blooms restaurant.

At the same time, the SIU says a cruiser was heading north on Richmond Street. It struck a 20-year-old female student.

She was treated for a fractured shoulder.

The SIU says three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to this incident.

The SIU asks anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact 1-800-787-8529.
