Canadian Blood Services is shutting down four of its permanent sites - including one in Sarnia - and 16 mobile clinics across the country.

While the Sarnia clinic is closing - officials say it will be replaced by a mobile one.

The other big closures affect clinics in Sydney, N.S., Prince George, B.C., and Cornerbrook, Nfld, and they'll shut down June 1st.

Decline in demand from Canada's hospitals is the reason behind the changes, and it will reduce the agency's costs by $2.9 million a year.
