A young boy is in critical but stable condition after falling 30 feet off a cliff east of Guelph.

The incident occurred Sunday, September 6, at the Rockwood Conservation Area.

Wellington County OPP along with EMS, and fire crews responded to the call just after 4:45 p.m.

Police say a seven-year-old boy was playing with his five-year-old brother on a rock cliff when he lost his footing and slid off the rock face.

The fall was about 30 feet high and the boy landed on a gravel path below.

He was taken to hospital in Hamilton in critical condition, and he is now in stable condition.
