Search teams spent the afternoon looking for someone who may have ended up in the water near the Forks of the Thames.
London police and fire crews were called to the scene around 1p.m. Thursday following reports someone had fallen into the river.
Four teams of firefighters were in the water searching using inflatable rescue rafts.
The search focused on an area downstream from the pedestrian bridge at the Forks of the Thames where witnesses reported seeing someone fall in.
So far the search has failed to locate anyone.
