Police say it’s a mystery what happened to a 42-year-old Sarnia man, missing since May 1.

Police say Kent Jennings left Sarnia that day in a rented van with Illinois licence plates, on his way to see his brother in the Burlington area. He planned to head to Ottawa after that.

“He never made contact,” says Const. Les Jones.

“The family is concerned. They tried to phone and e-mail him and they’re getting nothing.”

Jones says Jennings lived with his parents in Sarnia, but has also lived in Ottawa and Vancouver. Police in Vancouver have also been contacted.

The van was due in Ottawa on July 28, but was not returned.

Jones says the brother contacted the Halton Regional Police Service first and they contacted Sarnia police last Friday.

Sarnia officers have been investigating without turning up anything.

“This is a last-ditch effort. We’re making a request to the public,” Jones says.

Jennings is six feet tall and weighs 150 pounds.

He rented a grey 2015 Dodge Caravan with Illinois license plate E169508.

If you have any information regarding Jennings’s whereabouts, contact Det.-Const. Sean Peters at 519-344-8861 extension 6197 or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
