Provincial police are warning drivers to be aware on the road as children return to school in coming days.

Officers say school buses will be returning to roads and there will be an increase in pedestrians.

Police say excited students may forget safety rules and the more attention that drivers pay, the safer kids will be.

Officers are also reminding motorists not to pass school buses with flashing signals -- the minimum fine for failing to stop is $400.
