London police say a stabbing in southwest London on Thursday remains under investigation, but it is being called a case of domestic violence.

Officers were called to an apartment at 760 Viscount Road around 12:30 p.m. by a neighbour who noticed a disturbance.

Police say when they arrived they found an adult female had been stabbed. She suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in fair condition.

An adult male suspect was also found who had apparently fallen or jumped from a third-floor window. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and after being transported to hospital he was arrested.

He remains in custody and has been charged with attempted murder, overcoming resistance by choking, wearing a disguise in the commision of an offence and breach of probation.

No charges have been laid in relation to a confrontation with neighbours who reportedly tried to intervene in the incident after calling 911.

The male and female are known to each other and police say they are not seeking other suspects. Since the case is considered an act of domestic violence, the parties are not being identified.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in court Friday afternoon.
