Police find owner of emu that was on the loose near Kilworth

After sending out a news release that police had captured an emu on the loose and were looking for help to care for it, its owner was found.

Middlessex OPP say they were alerted to an emu on or near a road in the Kilworth area around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

They were searching for the owner or an individual or agency qualified to care for the big bird until its owner could be located.

Within half an hour of sending out the release, the owner came forward.
