Police in Hanover are investigating after an elderly woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
According to police Beatrice Gaeler, 83, of Hanover died of her injuries after she was hit be a vehicle turning eastbound onto 10th Street from 7th Avenue around noon hour Tuesday.
The driver, an 89-year-old man from Elmwood is facing charges for failing to yield to a pedestrian. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for shock and later released.
Hanover police are asking for any witnesses to come forward and to contact them at 519-364-2411.
