Owen Sound Police are investigating the suspicious death of a pet cat.
On Friday, the indoor cat was inadvertently let out of the family home located in the area of 16th Street and 3rd Avenue East.
A short time later, the family began to search the area for the grey short-haired cat and eventually found it dead.
It had been placed in a garbage can in a park nearby.
Police say it is not clear how the cat died, but it had suffered obvious trauma.
