About 70 members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union Local 276 has ratified a four-year contract agreement with the Grey Bruce Health Unit.

The members voted in favour of the deal reached in the recent contract negotiations, the Board of Health  announced.

The union represents about 70 staff including public health inspectors, dental hygienists, speech therapists, Registered Practical Nurses, dieticians, tobacco use promoters and others.

The board ratified the agreement at its last meeting on Nov. 28. Union members voted Tuesday night to accept the offer.

The four-year contact, beginning Jan. 1, 2015, has a one per cent wage increase the first year and .25 per cent increases in each subsequent year. It also has a signing bonus.
