Elgin County OPP say a 31-year-old man has suffered life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash west of Tillsonburg.

Police responded to Culloden Road between Pressey Line and Best Line shortly before 7 a.m. Monday for the collision.

Investigators say a northbound car left the road and entered the east ditch before striking a small tree on the passenger side.

The driver, from the Municipality of Bayham, was extricated by fire crews. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Culloden Road is expected to remain closed from Pressey Line to Best Line for several hours.

The investigation continues.

Second serious crash in two days

The crash comes less than a day after a head-on crash on Road 68 between 21st and 23rd Line in Zorra Township sent three people to hospital.

Oxford County OPP responded to the scene just east of Thamesford around 6 p.m. Sunday after an eastbound car crossed the centre line and struck a westbound pickup.

The adult male driver of the car, 27-year-old Alfred Allen Mabbayad of London, was extricated with life-threatening injuries and has since died of his injuries.

The adult female driver and an adult male passenger in the pickup were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
