Oxford OPP have identified the person who died in a fatal collision on the 401 near Ingersoll Thursday.

OPP say the man died following the crash on the on ramp to the 401 eastbound at Culloden Road.

It happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

According to the OPP, a passanger van struck the rear end of a transport truck while entering the highway.

The van then travelled across the highway and collided into the centre median.

The male driver of the van was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

He has been identified as William Berry, 74, of Rear Leeds-Landsdowne Township.

The driver of the transport was not injured.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for the entire morning at Culloden Road.
