The OPP are now involved after a body was found inside an Owen Sound home Thursday around 5 p.m.
The body is believed to have been found inside an apartment at 862 2nd Ave. West. Police have had the building cordoned off since Thursday afternoon.
The death investigation falls within the jurisdiction of the Owen Sound police, who have taken the unique step of calling in the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch to lead the investigation.
Police say the name and gender of the deceased won’t be released until an autopsy on the body is completed in London.
That’s expected to take place Friday afternoon or evening.
Officials say more information will be released as the investigation continues.
