After spending Monday night guarding a home on Lawson Road, officials have determined the substances inside are not illegal or dangerous.

Police received a call around 1 p.m. on Monday from a concerned citizen who had been inside the home.

Investigators say there were several glass containers and a hot plate, which appeared to be set up in a lab-type environment, inside the home.

That day the London Fire Department's HazMat team determined there was no chance of an explosion due to the chemicals, which were found in various containers, but hydro and gas were shut off as a precaution.

Health Canada was also called in, and further investigation on Tuesday revealed the chemicals don't pose any danger to neighbours and there was no illegal activity.

Once the investigation was concluded the home's occupants were able to return.
