A new 23,000 square foot retail store in the Wonderland Power Centre will bring dozens of jobs to the city.

London Mayor Matt Brown says, "I think it really demonstrates a confidence. Each new investment that we see in this community demonstrates that we're on the road to recovery and it certainly is a positive message for London."

Designer Shoe Warehouse - DSW - is bringing from 40 to 70 retail jobs to London when the new store opens on Wonderland Road South in August.

Work is already underway on the space that once housed Angelo's Bakery and Deli, and the new footware spot will be located right next to the Ikea 'Pick-Up-Point' store slated to open in December.

Bruce Dinan, president and CEO of Town Shoes, says, "We have two Town Shoes stores in the London market and we have two Shoe Company stores and certainly the demographics in the London market, and London itself, have supported us very well so we found this as a natural extension to bring this banner to the London market."

The hope is that with these new retailers located together the Wonderland Centre will become more of destination spot for shoppers in southwestern Ontario.
