London police have charged two teenagers in connection with a stolen parking meter that was repurposed as a kindness meter.

The meter was taken on Monday from Ivey Park. The meters collect donations for local community groups dedicated to providing services and resources to individuals experiencing poverty and/or homelessness.

Police say the females, aged 15 and 16, of London, were charged with theft under $5,000.

Police were made aware of the stolen meter through its online reporting system, as well as through the local media coverage. They are thanking the public for its support and assistance.

The meter has yet to be recovered.
