A former Barrie teacher now living in London is facing a number of charges following a child sexual assault investigation.
On September 16, 2015, the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit received a complaint in regards to a sexual assault on a child.
Police began an investigation and learned that the allegations date back to a period of time between September 2004 and June 2005, when the man was a teacher at an elementary school in Barrie.
OPP Detective Sergeant Paul Thompson tells CTV News the victim was a student at the school. At this point police are not aware of any other victims but are asking anyone with any more information to come forward.
The 61-year-old is charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference and one count of sexual exploitation.
The investigation is continuing.
