The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has placed all farms with poultry under quarantine in an area in Oxford and Waterloo counties due to avian influenza.

They say that only one farm has tested positive for avian flu, but placing the others under quarantine will help stop the potential spread of the disease.

The food agency says the quarantine is an internationally accepted practice that allows non-infected areas to continue trade.

This is the second premises to test positive for avian influenza in Ontario.
