Police in Owen Sound are trying to recover six doses of methadone lost in Owen Sound.

Police say a man accidentally left a camouflagege-coloured backpack containing the drug in an eatery on 9th Street East, on Monday, July 25th, around 9:00 a.m. Inside the backpack, he had a locked black carrying case that contained the methadone.

The victim contacted the Owen Sound Police on Wednesday, July 27th, after he made attempts to locate the backpack containing the six 200-ml units of methadone.

Each methadone unit is a bottle about the size of a juice box, and has a child-proof lid. A small dose of this drug can be dangerous to children and it can also be dangerous to adults if a full dose is taken.

If located, please contact the Owen Sound Police Service. Anyone with information regarding this occurrence can contact the investigating officer Police Constable Houston at 519-376-1234 ext 177.
