The Memorial Cup's arrival in London on Thursday marks the start of 10 days of festivities surrounding the Canadian Major Junior Hockey Championship.

After landing at Wolseley Barracks in a helicopter, it was transported to the cenotaph at Victoria Park for a ceremony.

It then completed its journey to Fanfest outside Covent Garden Market in a vintage Labatt's delivery truck.

While the Budweiser Clydesdale's couldn't attend Thursday's event due to the rain, they are expected to be a Fanfest on Friday and Saturday.

You can get all the details of the events being held throughout the week at the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup website.

London is hosting the event for the second time in 40 years, and it promises to light up the city's downtown.

The London Knights, Guelph Storm, Edmonton Oil Kings and Val-d'Or Foreurs will begin round robin competition on Friday night.
