London police have charged a 20-year-old man after a dead 10-week-old kitten was taken to London Animal Care and Control.

Investigators with the London Police Service and the London Humane Society conducted a joint investigation after the kitten was turned in on July 5th.

As a result, Stephen Hanson of London was arrested on July 7th and charged with:

  • killing or injuring an animal
  • failing to provide reasonable care to an animal
  • uttering threats to kill, poison or injure an animal
  • two counts of causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal

Hanson has been released from custody and is expected back in court on Aug. 12th.
