London police say they are investigating two girls were abducted in the area of Southdale Road and Adelaide Street South on Saturday. Both are back home safe with their families.

According to investigators, a nine- and 11-year-old girl were walking in the area when they were approached by a male - who they didn't know - in a vehicle around 7:30 p.m.

After enticing the girls into the vehicle they were driven to Springbank Park, walked in the area of Storybook Gardens and the wading pool before driving to a fast food store near Wellington and Commissioners Roads around 9:50 p.m.

Police say the male then drove them back to Springbank Park to eat the food he had purchased before driving them back to the area of Southdale Road and Adelaide Street where he dropped off one of the girls, who walked home, arriving just after 11 p.m.

The male then reportedly took one of the girls to an unknown location where she was sexually assaulted before being dropped off back at Southdale and Adelaide around 11:40 p.m.

Neither of the girls sustained any physical injuries in the incident, but police are searching for a man in connection with the incident.

He is described as Asian, 5'8" tall, with a medium build, between 30 and 40 years of age, short dark hair that is described as 'spiked' on top, thinner face, wearing a long-sleeved white dress shirt over a white sleeveless undershirt and beige pants.

The vehicle is described as a dark, newer model four-door sedan with an antenna on the back of the vehicle and a black and white interior.

Anyone who may have seen the male with the girls are asked to contact police at 519-660-5142 or tipster@police.london.ca
