The London Knights honoured their longtime trainer Don Brankley Tuesday evening.

Brankley passed away June 16. He was 69.

The celebration took place at Budweiser Gardens from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The event consisted of photos and videos of Brankley as well as speeches from members of the London Knights, London Knights alumni, and others.

Nicknamed “Branks”, Brankley worked as a trainer with the Knights for 38 years.

Brankley first started with the Knights in 1970 and worked for them until 2008.

He worked with some of the biggest names in the OHL and eventually the NHL including, Pat Kane, Brandon Prust, Corey Perry, Brendan Shanahan, Rick Nash and Dino Ciccarelli.

Brankley was a member of the 2005 Memorial Cup Championship team and has a banner hanging up in the rafters at Budweiser Gardens.
