CTV News has learned that London and Windsor’s joint bid to host the 2019 World Junior Hockey Championship has made the shortlist.

Sources suggest there are five bids still in the running to host the coveted tournament – including another joint bid from Vancouver and Victoria, B.C.

London is contributing $600,000 to host all of the medal games while Windsor Council approved a motion in August to spend $400,000 to share hosting duties.

As part of the process, each bid must make a final presentation to host the championship.

Hockey Canada says the winning bid will be announced at the end of November or early December.

Montreal and Toronto will jointly host the 2016 tournament.

Buffalo will play host in 2017.

Play would start at London's Budweiser Gardens and Windsor's WFCU Centre on Boxing Day 2018.
