Two teens from London in kayaks on Lake Huron had to be helped ashore last Friday as neither had personal flotation devices.
South Bruce OPP were called to the lake about 7:30 p.m. after reports that the teens appeared to need help. By the time they arrive, someone already came to the aid of the 19-year-olds.
They were charged under the Canada Shipping Act for a violation regarding safety equipment.
OPP reminds everyone to ensure proper safety equipment is on board before going out on the water.
