Police in London say there was none of last year's rowdiness during Saturday's St. Patrick's Day festivities.

Const. Ken Steeves said officers were called to a handful of parties Saturday night, but things were generally "pretty quiet" and no arrests were made.

He added police don't expect any trouble Sunday but officers will be out in force just in case to rein in any potential unrest.

Police Chief Brad Duncan has said the force is taking a zero-tolerance approach to unruly parties.

By early Sunday afternoon, several house parties throughout London were broken up by police, with 16 kegs of beer confiscated.

Two bashes were located on side streets near Western Univseristy.

One party was on Tower Lane with another on Broughdale Avenue.

A third party has been broken up on Huron Street, near Fanshawe College.

Police are reminding revellers that keg parties are illegal.

Authorities been planning carefully for this year's celebrations after a drunken St. Patrick's Day riot last year left the Fleming Drive area near Fanshawe College looking like a war zone.

Close to 70 people were arrested and more 170 charges were laid.
