Optimism is growing for London Knights fans after the Knights kicked off their Ontario Hockey League playoffs with a 5-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit.

The Knights swarmed the Spirit jumping out to a 5-0 lead, before giving up two late in the game.

The Knights had 50 regular season wins, only the fifth time in franchise history that has happened.

The London squad made it to the Memorial Cup last year, losing in the final game.

This was expected to be a year to prepare for another Memorial Cup run in 2014, when the team hopes to host the tournament.

Now fans are thinking about the possibility of back-to-back championships.
