A 29 year old KItchener woman is facing numerous charges following a weekend police pursuit that saw an OPP SUV struck.

Just before 4:30 a.m. on Saturday March 5, a resident was awakened to the sound of his truck running in the driveway.

The thief took off with his Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The owner chased the thief following in a second vehicle and called police.

Huron County OPP located the stolen truck in Seaforth.

The driver of the stolen pickup then entered onto a dead end cul-de-sac, that's when police say the driver drove across a lawn and rammed the vehicle directly into the passenger side of the OPP Chevrolet Tahoe.

A second police vehicle blocked it in from reversing.

The driver was arrested.

No one was hurt but the SUV sustained heavy damage.

Police determined she had outstanding warrants from Waterloo Regional Police Service and she was currently serving a probation sentence.

The accused remains in custody, facing a total of 12 charges, including Theft of a Motor Vehicle; Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Mischief Over $5,000; Assaulting a Peace Officer with a Weapon; and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.
