London residents will be trying to stay hydrated and cool with hot weather in the forecast for most of the week.

Pools, splash pads and air-conditioned public areas are expected to be busier than normal.

Environment Canada predicts temperatures to go above 30 C Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies.Thursday and Friday are expected to get up to 28 C.

The forecaster has already issued heat alerts for many regions of Ontario, although one has not yet been issued for the London area.

In hot weather, the Middlesex-London Health Unit usually asks residents to avoid strenuous outside activity and plan outdoor activities wisely, as well as drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothes and a hat if they are going to be outdoors.
