GODERICH, Ont. - A 44-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday evening just north of Goderich, Ont.
The OPP say the preliminary investigation shows the driver of a minivan heading north on Highway 21 tried to pass a vehicle and collided with an oncoming pickup truck.
The driver and lone occupant of the minivan, identified as Michael Essery of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township, died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Wednesday.
The 28-year-old man driving the pickup truck was uninjured.
A section of Highway 21, known as Bluewater Veteran's Highway, remained closed Late Tuesday between Saltford Rd. and MTO Rd.
