A City of London garbage hauler was involved in a collision with a dump truck Thursday morning.
The collision occurred around 6:40 a.m. on Highbury Avenue just south of Oxford Street across from the Canada Post depot.
According to witnesses the city garbage truck collided with a dump truck causing extensive damage to the garbage truck.
No one was seriously injured in the collision but one driver was checked over by EMS.
Fire crews were called to the scene due to reports of smoke coming from the engine of the garbage truck.
The northbound lane of Highbury Avenue was blocked causing major delays during the busy morning commute. At one point traffic was backed up as far as Dundas Street.
Police are investigating the collision.
