Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for the majority of Southern Ontario.

The advisory stretches from Windsor through London-Middlesex and northeast to the Algonquin Park area.

The forecaster says some plants could be damaged or even destroyed by frost, and advises covering them, especially in frost-prone areas.

A high pressure system is expected to move into Southern Ontario Wednesday night, with clear skies and light winds into early Thursday morning.

As a result, frost is predicted to develop near midnight, with areas near the shorelines of the Lower Great Lakes having the lesser chance of frost.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season.
