It looks as though food trucks will be coming to London later this year, despite some legal challenges.

City councillors voted 15-0 to approve eight food trucks for a pilot project.

A letter had come in from a lawyer who represents a group of concerned downtown businesses warning that the proposal would not comply with legislation related to the downtown BIA.

The letter requested another delay - which was denied by council.

Instead, a plan was approved that would see trucks licensed in more than 100 metered spots, but not within 25 meters of a restaurant or residential building.

The project will be reviewed again in the fall.
