The most recent standardized provincial tests for schools show Grade 3 and 6 students in Ontario need to work on their math.
Students are making real gains in reading and writing, but not in math, with just 54 per cent of Grade 6 students achieving the provincial standard.
In line with their provincial counterparts, most students in the London region are reading and writing at a level above the standard.
And the London District Catholic School Board students are outpacing their public board counterparts.
In math, less than half of all Grade 6 students in the public board - 48 per cent - met the provincial standard
When looking at the provincial averages, most of the local results fall below the marks most Ontario students achieved.
