One person has been airlifted to hospital, following a crash involving a tractor trailer, west of Wellesley.

OPP were called to Perth Road 107, just north of Line 47 on Thursday, around 7:15 a.m. Police say a Chevrolet pickup truck crossed the center line and sideswiped a tractor trailer filled with corn.

The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to roll into a nearby ditch, while the transport entered the eastbound shoulder and tipped onto its side, spilling its load.

The driver of the pickup, a 72-year-old Brockton man, was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to a Hamilton hospital with major injuries. The tractor trailer driver, a 51-year-old East Zorra Township man was uninjured.

Perth Road 107 between Line 47 and Perth Line 56 is expected to remain closed until 3 p.m.
