Eight commercial vehicles were pulled off the road last week by St. Thomas police following a vehicle inspection blitz.

On Thusday, St. Thomas Police Service along with Ministry of Transportation officials conducted 19 inspections.

Eight vehicles were deemed unsafe for travel and declared out of service.

One set of plates were removed off a truck, six tickets were issued and a dozen warnings were given.

Some of the problems discovered by inspectors were cracked suspensions, flat tires, overweight vehicles and inoperative brakes among other issues.
