The OPP are reporting that the Civic Holiday Weekend was one of the deadliest in recent years across the province.

According to police a total of nine people died across the province on OPP-patrolled roads. Six people drowned on the weekend and one person died in a boating accident.

Of the 16 people dead three occurred within Huron County. On Sunday August, 2nd , two separate collisions involving motorcycles claimed the lives of a couple from Howick Township and a man from London.
