The 38-year-old London man accused of stabbing his five-year-old daughter appeared in a London courtroom on Wednesday.

Andrew Bruce Hill is charged with attempted murder in the incident that took place early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to a home on Applegreen Grove around 6:10 a.m. where a five-year-old girl was found with several stab wounds.

She was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is reportedly recovering and now in serious, but stable condition.

In court, Hill appeared disoriented and quickly buried his face in his hands, looking down for the majority of his brief court appearance.

He was ordered to have no contact with about a dozen people, including his wife and four children.

Hill is scheduled to return to court on Friday.
