A precautionary boil water advisory for all residents and businesses issued by the Town of Petrolia Water Department has been expanded to parts of Lambton County.

As a precaution, Lambton Public Health says the advisory has expanded to include Enniskillen, Dawn-Euphemia and Oil Springs.

The advisory comes following a recent water main break and adverse water sample test results, but officials say they are actively working to resolve the concern.

Residents are asked to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute and allow it to cool or use bottled water to drink, brush teeth, wash food, make ice, juice or other mixes and prepare infant food and formula.

There have been no reports of illness so far.

As more information becomes available and/or when the precautionary period ends an update will be issued.

Questions can be directed to Phil Powers, Water Department ORO, at 519-490-4612.

Updates can be found on the Town of Petrolia website or on the Lambton Public Health website.
