You can call it a successful first day of ticket sales for the Blyth Festival.

The small-town theatre saw a 198 per cent increase in ticket sales from opening day last year to this one.

That equates to 360 tickets sold on the first day of ticket sales last Wednesday. They sold 182 on the first day in 2014.

The festival opens its doors to patrons on June 24th.

Among the plays on stage are Seeds, The Wilberforce Hotel, Fury, Mary's Wedding and Edna Rural's Church Supper.
