The feisty Edmonton Oil Kings shot down the London Knights' momentum, each time the home team seemed to breathe some life Sunday night.

Not only that, but when Edmonton’s Luke Bertolucci scored his second goal of the game, he taunted the fans, by gesturing to the crowd to make some noise.

Bertolucci denied it after the game. “I just was happy. I wasn’t taunting anyone.”

The Knights themselves could only express exasperation about their 0-2 start in the Memorial Cup and the lack of offence.

“Everyone’s frustrated. Every team goes through it. It sucks it’s right now during the Memorial Cup,” says goalie Jake Patterson, who replaced Anthony Stolarz for the third.

“We’ll find out what’s wrong and hopefully put some more pucks in the net.”

T-Shirt guy was back - free shirts stuffed in his belt loops - to ratchet up the crowd. He peels off one, two, three, four shirts at a time and then throws them to the crowd - working the whole arena.

No matter how frenzied the fans became at times it wasn't enough to spur the Knights to victory.

The Knights face the Guelph Storm on Wednesday and will need four straight wins if they want to capture the Cup.

There was one at least one fan who went home from Budweiser Gardens pleased.

Mike Dintino was just happy to be there.

The OHL decided to award a random fan, a free ticket.

Joe Birch, a former Knight and senior director of Hockey Development with the O, found Dintini in the square outside the arena.

Dintino, who was hoping he might be able to buy tickets, was stunned.

"Pretty generous. Pretty nice."

Talk in Tillsonburg

The Memorial Cup isn't just the talk of London.

At a soccer tournament in Tillsonburg this weekend, there was interest in the Knights Cup quest.

Someone asked the score of their last game and then a spectator started dissing the Knights.

That caught the ire of a referee.

"Be quiet or I'll give you a yellow card," the ref told the man.

Knights alum celebrated too

From the Captain's Breakfast involving former team leaders to photos and autograph signing, Knights alumni are in demand as well.

Billy Carroll - a member of the Stanley-Cup winning New York Islanders!! - was on hand as well as Dave Simpon, Brad Marsh, Jim Sandlak, Michael D'Orazio, Stephen Sanza, Scott Aarssen and Reg Thomas.

About 600 people attended the breakfast, which was in support of Parkwood Hospital.

Moral support

Mark and Dale Hunter received some moral support when older brother Dave arrived in town from Edmonton to catch the second game.

Dave won three Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers.

He joked that his brothers just want him to stay out of their way.

He says Knights just need to get a few breaks before they're done. "Sometimes you've just got to have a bounce once in a while."

Celebrity sighting: Mats Sundin, hanging out with Tie.

Please help: Rob Schremp told media and took to Twitter to try to get help to find his Memorial Cup ring. He lost it at Budweiser Gardens.

"Shot in the dark but if anyone finds my ring, please return it."

Tweet of the Day: @kidrauxltribe  If London wins, or doesn't win (which I hope to God they win), the Memorial Cup, I'm gonna cry either way.Lol xD #GoKnightsGo #WhatWeLiveFor

Quote of the Day:  “We put in a lot of work this last month and I think we’ll be alright.” Alex Basso, trying to convince himself and the whole city that his team can rebound from a 0-2 start to the Memorial Cup.
